If you’re like me, you’ve never heard of the Lake Ahmeek before. Cathy McKenzie snapped these shots of it recently and explains how the Ahmeek Park turns into Lake Ahmeek:

“It is only for a short time that the "lake" is present. The day after I took these it dropped significantly. Just before I took these photos I saw there was a slight opening in the clouds that would allow for some reflection shots. I grabbed my camera and was lucky to take just a handful of pics before the clouds covered the sun again.”

Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Fun shots of something that happens so quickly, not many get to see it, except through photos like these from Cathy.

Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula entices us to head north and be sure to visit Jacob’s Falls, where you’ll be graced by its cool mists and rushing waters. This is the time of year to feel the full rush of all the falls in the area, while the snow melt is feeding them, too.

Great looking waterfall!! Really nice!! Wonder how
the Haven Falls are flowing in Lac La Belle??

Wow! That is awesome! I never heard about
that before. Glad she was there to snap
those. We were at Jacob's Falls last week.
We should have driven back over there when
we were in Eagle River earlier this week.
It's a great time to visit the falls for
sure.
