Hiking along the trail above Mont Ripley ski hills is a bit easier through pine needles than through the snow on snowshoes. Melanie Hakala Rossi, Heather and Finley made a trek around those parts recently and found a few piles of snow left around the ski hill, but not enough for skiing anymore this year. The view from UP there is always beautiful, no matter the season, too. The view along the trail wasn’t bad either, since someone with artistic talents brought paints with them and painted a number of colorful mushrooms on rocks along the way. What a nice gesture to brighten other people’s day when traveling the trails!
Today’s video was from a spring when we had a bit more snow on the ski runs at Mont Ripley. This young man decided to make one last run, but in his cap and gown after commencement ceremonies at Michigan Tech earlier that day. What a fun way to wrap up your time at Tech.
