Sharon Bodenus of Upper Peninsula Photography often gets up before the birds and heads to the shores of Lake Superior for some spectacular predawn shots. She snapped today’s photos Friday morning and remarked how the early morning sun is so neat to watch and see how the lighting changes the colors both in the sky and on the Lighthouse, too. I can just imagine the quiet there in those predawn hours and gradually, as the sun brightens more of the sky, you must hear the town of Marquette waking up around you. The pictures show the magic of those moments, for sure. And Sharon gives us a morning wave in the last one!
The video Sharon shares with us today was recorded on another recent morning stroll, when it was only 40° and a touch foggy. It’s nice to share this walk and the quiet sounds that surrounded her in Little Lake.

Pure serenity. I love the mirrored trees in the video. Wish I had the ambition to get up that early. But more so, I wish I could just get up and drive there that easily. Loved everything!

Orthodoxy is a relaxation of the mind accompanied by a stiffening of the heart....Ed Abbey. The decisions being made now present odd assessments of trade offs..
