Bob Fleury is the guy behind the camera lens over at 906 Superiorland Sunrises and hasn’t missed taking a sunrise photo in over 11 years. That’s a lot of sunrises and the ones here today are absolutely stunning. Bob took these at Pirate’s Cove in Marquette, which is also referred to as Blackrocks or just simply the Cove. I love how he captured the ice reflecting the sun as it rises, turning everything around the cove a golden hue. We’ve been lucky lately, despite the snowstorms and many inches of snow we’ve gotten, that we’ve also been blessed with sunshine for a number of days, which is always a bonus for us here UP North this time of year. That’s what makes it possible for photographers like Bob to capture the beauty of nature so perfectly.

Pay attention now, as this can be a little confusing... Shannon is the guy behind the camera lens over at 906 Images. See the confusing part? 906 Images and 906 Superiorland Sunrises. Quite similar names two different, outstanding photographers in the Marquette area. Anyway, today’s photos are from the latter, but today’s video is from the former... 906 Images. He said it was a bit difficult to get to this spot along Lake Superior, but it sure was cool (literally!). If you recall a few weeks ago, Shannon shared that he has a really good pair of ice cleats that he wears when he’s adventuring for photos and videos like this one. What a special treat to see and hear this scene!

Hi
They are all gorgeous. But the first one that shows
a single clear piece of ice in the foreground is
outstanding.

Nice pix, Mary and perfectly time,
since my comment on yesterday’s
post was:

“Now goodnight moon
I want the sun
If it's not here soon
I might be done
No it won't be too soon
til I say Goodnight moon
No it won't be too soon '
til I say Goodnight moon”
(Shivaree)

And a trippy, vertigo video too!

Greetings:

Beautiful photos.

I'm not all that well versed on Marquette even though I still use the Superior Heartland books to get around; I still have to wait for "jbuck" to chime in about the posted photos.
