We welcome to the Pasty Cam today, Bryan Mitchell, a Michigan Landscape photographer and the man behind the camera over at Bryan Mitchell Photography. Bryan was on hand with a number of other photographers last week to capture the twice a year phenomenon many call “Orehenge”, when the sunrise can be captured through the old, historic Ore Dock in Marquette. It happens every January and November, so photographers plan on being there, hoping for clear skies to get those perfect shots. Bryan said that in January, it’s normally on or near the 20th, so he always plans on being there on the day before and the day after, just to be sure. The day he captured these photos, it was -15°, with the windchill pushing -30° as the sun was making its appearance through the Ore Dock tunnel. Absolutely stunning! Just so cool. It would be fun to be there when this happens.

How stunning is that?? And I love the vid...AND, there is nothing like the top of Brockway, in the winter, with a full moon....that is just unreal. Thank the Lord I got to do stuff way back in the day....AND when it wasn't as insane as it is today.
(Watching the 80th Liberation of Auschwitz...those stories...it's so hard to believe people can be so evil.)

Absolutely magnificent! My very first thought was “Stonehenge” and then I saw the name of the event “Orehenge”. And the video was great! Oh, to be healthy again. You can best believe the saying; “When you have your health you have everything.”

Very cool, recognized the lower harbor immediately. All three pics are just amazing!
Nice video as well. Mary, is Don Kauppi related to Bobby from Dockside and sister Sherry as well? I'm assuming so?
