One of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River, the Tahquamenon Falls is something to see with volumes of water rushing over the 200 feet wide Upper Falls. Marcy Bessolo was there recently and shares their adventure with us. That’s her hubby, Eric on the viewing platform, taking in all the glory and wonder of such a beautiful area, with the tannin colored waters from cedar, spruce and hemlock trees along the river’s travels. The large amount of foam you see there, in the Tahquamenon River, is caused by the extremely soft water churning with the action of the falls, creating the foam as the river flows along.

Marcy was also able to record a short video of the falls in action. Make sure you turn your volume up if you want the full effect with the sound of the waterfall, too!
