Back on April 17, 2023 we had photos of the Eagle River Falls and Ten Foot Falls. Uncle Chuck commented that day, that he bet Haven Falls in Lac La Belle is roaring as well. You’re in luck, Chuck...Marcy Bessolo Hermanson is sharing a couple shots of Haven Falls in all its glory, along with a photo of Jacob’s Falls that is running strong, too. With the spring melt and all the rain we’ve had lately, both these falls will be roaring for a time yet. So if you’re local, it may be time for a road trip to check out the falls in person.

Marcy has a bonus for us, with a video of the Tobacco River just outside of Gay, MI. Oh boy, was she ever running hard the day Marcy was there. I have a friend who always talked about kayaking down the Tobacco during the spring runoff. No thank you!

Gordon Lightfoot passed away yesterday,May 1st. He
was 84. Loved his music.

J.T…. I read about the passing of Lightfoot as well it created an

emptiness in my heart. I’m a big fan of his music.

wet with the snow melt!! Really nice looking Falls
and video, thanks for sharing Marcy & Mary!! I hope
the rain and melt is displacing anyone and that
everyone is safe!! Can't remember when I've seen
either, Haven or the Tobacco run like that!!

C'mon Mary, I'll kayak the Tobacco with you!! :=))

Time to get the smelt dipping nets out and the fryer
and lemon & tartar sauce !!

I also enjoyed Gordon Lightfoot's music; sad news
that he passed.

The video of the river in flood, roaring and rushing
in the sunshine, was pure exuberance.
