Beth Jukuri mentioned that she had been off her routine of getting out each day, then a friend reminded her of the cool things to see outside, so she got back outdoors and said it felt wonderful! In Beth’s defense for being “off her routine”, the weather has been a bit all over the place lately with rain, snow, rain again, snow again, etc., etc….you get the picture. Anyway, Beth did find some cool things on her excursion...her road beginning to dry up after the flooding last week, bird tracks on the side of the road, possibly turkeys, a dead tree that the woodpeckers have been pecking away at and a few Sandhill Cranes in the field alongside her. Beth’s friend was right, there is always something cool to see outside!
The video Beth recorded shows those Sandhill Cranes strutting around, but surprisingly not making their prehistoric-like sounds that they normally do. Listen close though, you can hear some other birds, I’m not sure what they are, but I love the sounds! Maybe a red-winged blackbird?

Those birds are so cool...there used to be a field I'd sneak up on, and there were tons of them in there....the sounds of them talking to each other is so phenomenal. Then they built a house on it. Gah.
