H. Donn de Yampert headed out in the storm this past weekend with his trusty drone, to capture some photos of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge with the snow storm surrounding it. That’s Donn in the last photo and he looks like he bundled up to stay warm, except for his hands, which is understandable, since it would be hard to operate the drone controls with gloves on. Cool shots of the Bridge and not much traffic crossing over when Donn was out there getting the photos. It looks like visibility at that point wasn’t too bad. There were times during the two day storm, that the wind was really obscuring everything in sight.

Steve Brimm shares a short video of the Keweenaw Road Commission plow at work after the storm. Plus he shares a podcast from Amanda Wais, called “A Fresh Air Inspired Life”. She interviews Gregg Patrick, the Keweenaw Road Commission Engineer about the Keweenaw Roads and keeping them plowed in the winter. Click here for the podcast, it’s just over 18 minutes. Give me snow anyday....compared to what other parts
of this planet go through...I like snow!

I just turned up the heat… that is one frigid set of pix.

Hi
I like snow up through the end of February. Then I'm
ready to transition to warmer weather. But snow is
better than freezing rain or ice storms.

B&W photos make me imagine a modern day version of the ice wall in the "Game of Thrones".

Very cool pictures. I'll take that weather over
what they're going through in California and other
areas of the country. By mid March, though, I'm
totally over it. That's why we go south at this
time of year rather than during the more wintery
months. I don't mind the snow, including the
cleaning out. But I'm so ready to sit at the beach
for a week or so.
