Sue Haralson and her hubby, Bob, were on an early morning run to Marquette earlier last week, when she captured the sunrise under Bishop Baraga. She said it was 8:25 a.m. and was pleased that an eagle happened into the photo, too. Sue added that the sunrise under the Bishop must have made him nice and toasty that morning. Talk about being in the right place, at the right time, plus having a driver that was willing to stop for a photo op!

The remaining three shots were snapped by Nancy Haun, also before the storm this past weekend. There wasn’t a whole lot of snow around the grounds of the shrine then and check out those beautiful blue skies. I can’t wait to get back to days like this and hopefully no more snowstorms.

For those who might be missing the Big Lake, Judy Byykkonen shares a short video of Lake Superior doing her thing earlier last week. As always, make sure your sound is turned up for the full effect.

Nice pix and a great video…time to get out the speedos.

Beautiful pictures and the lake always sounds
good.

Probably only a few days surrounding the spring or fall equinoxes (equinoxii, perhaps?!) that the sunrise under the Bishop could be captured on camera. Great shot, Sue, thanks and to Bob too!
I dunno about the Speedos quite yet Alex but with the Soo locks opening in a few days we're getting closer to warmer weather.

According to Indian ceremony...you are supposed to
sprinkle a pinch of tobacco for thanks for seeing
an Eagle. Eagles are HUGE in the Indian community.
They are the only folks in the USA allowed to own
Eagle Feathers. You either contact the Bureau of
Indian Affairs, or you gift it to a Native. I've
had the honor of gifting 4 feathers, and it brings
our Native brothers and sisters to tears! That
feather becomes a member of the family.

Sorry, Soapbox. lol
