Judy Byykkonen lives in Laurium, one of the snow capitals of the Keweenaw and shares today’s photos from our two day St. Patrick’s Day storm. Those first two shots as you can see, were from Friday morning and Saturday morning looking out Judy’s garage door where she keeps her trusty Ariens Deluxe 30- 306 cc snowblower. Note that she cleaned up all the snow in that first photo on Friday and then Saturday morning there was an even bigger dumping of snow, which Judy had to climb through those drifts to get at her snowblower.

Judy also mentioned that on Friday she couldn’t budge the back storm door, so in order for her “girls” to get out on the deck, she climbed through snow drifts to the back of her house, then climbed over the fence to get to her deck to shovel it out. Then she propped the back storm door open with a 2 X 4, so the dogs would be able to get outside on Saturday morning. You might say we had a good dumping of snow over those two days and the winds really swirled it around packing it in on us all. I don’t have an official inch reading, but I’m guessing we must have gotten around 2 feet of snow with this two day storm.

Keweenaw Trail Reports shares a trail grooming video with us today from the St. Patrick’s Day storm. Looks like the Keweenaw trails are in excellent condition right now!

That was definitely quite the storm. Judy was one
busy person, I bet!

meeting and the pup sitting down say's to the other
two.... "I've had about enough of this snow for the
season!!" and in the 4th pic, Minnie is heard
saying.... "C'mon, are you serious, enough already!"
