Frances Czapski trekked out to the Lake Superior beach at Whitefish Point just as the lake effect snow began rolling in. She said it was 22°, with 20+ mph winds on this day and the weatherman was predicting up to a foot of snow. I’m not certain if that much fell, but Frances caught the beginning of the snow squall in the last few photos. You can see the difference in the first and last shots of the Whitefish Point Lighthouse. I’m guessing she had some cold fingers while snapping these photos with the windchill making it feel much colder than it was. It’s nice that we have photographers like Frances that go out in the snow and cold to bring back the beauty for us to see.

Speaking of beauty...downtown Calumet is filled with historic sandstone buildings, which Visit Keweenaw says provide the perfect backfrop for watching the November snowflakes fall.

The perfect storm of a traveling webmaster and an intense DDOS (distributed denial of service) from Russian forces, delayed the publishing of Wednesday's Pasty Cam until the wee hours of Thanksgiving morning. Better late than never.

But better never late.

Loved the video too. I remember when
Vertin's sold clothes. They always seemed so
much more expensive than Penney's, which was
right up the street. But I loved going in to
look.
