When Debbie Jarve posted this colorful flower assortment, she also commented that she photographed them on a much needed ride to remind her how blessed we are and that there is so much to be thankful for. Life is Good! After looking at these beautiful blooms, I would have to agree. It’s a good thing to take some time to rest in the beauty of nature and to give thanks for all of it that surrounds us each and every day, from the lupines, the lilacs the dainty, little forget-me-nots and yes, even the dandelion seed-heads. They all add so much color and uniqueness to our days, if only we take time to notice and appreciate them.
Kristina Schnettler, Construction Supervisor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project to add a new lock at the Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, gives us an update on the project that has been in the works since the 1980’s and is expected to be completed in 2030.

Love the flowers! As i always say, i don't know how the lupine survive - the deer always ate the lupine we planted. You can almost smell the lilacs!
The update on the Lock reminds us of how slow the wheels of government turn! But think how good it will be when it's done. Heaven forbid anything happens to the Poe before the new lock is ready.

Beautiful Lilacs. I've never seen red ones.
But I adore Lupines. I was happy I could find this shot from along Mandan Rd. The Sunlight made it seem light a painting. The reduced quality needed to post doesn't do it justice.

Oh wow, D.A. These are gorgeous! I love lupines so much. I wanted to transplant some wild ones in my yard but if the deer like them, forget it. They've already eaten a couple of our plants and some leaves off of our new apple tree. And where I'd plant them is right where the deer enter the yard. I love the deer but I don't like them eating my yard. Ron planted clover instead of grass in the back of our yard hoping the bunnies and deer would eat that instead. But then we had that few day drought and we didn't water. So, that's not gonna grow. Water costs a fortune here and we're already wondering what our bill will be just for keeping the flowers alive. So anyway, I love the flowers.
We had red lilacs in our yard in Minnesota, as well as the lilac color, white, deep purple and purple and white variegated. And they all smelled beautiful. I really didn't want to leave them. Oh well, we do what we can here.

CONGRATS TO THE COLORADO AVALANCHE, 2022 NHL STANLEY CUP WINNER'S!!

Haven't liked them since the whole Wings/Avalanche rivalry. Claude Lemieux (sp) and Patrick Roy are cheaters in my opinion. But being a Wings fan, that is how I'd feel, lol.

My husband's a hockey fanatic so I knew it was on. I cheered for Tampa Bay. Yzerman basically built that team when he was the GM. I'd say he knew what he was doing (insert smiley face).
