Thanks to Chris Hendra, the guy behind the camera at Chris Hendra Photography, we have a collection of different ducks that he’s captured recently. We start out with a Blue-winged Teal Duck, showing a great example of the saying, “like water off a duck’s back”, which means that it has no effect on someone. It also shows how the ducks stay dry, since the water just runs right off their feathers.

The next duck is a beauty... a Drake Wood Duck. Check out all the colors and what a great reflection, too.

Number three in the line-up is a female Bufflehead and Chris says that’s a dragonfly larvae in her mouth. Following her, is a male Bufflehead, a colorful little diving duck. Beautiful coloring around the head of this fellow.

That’s a pair of Blue-winged Teal Ducks in the next photo, same as the top photo, except the female is there with the male in this one.

And last but not least, not a duck, but a Belted Kingfisher, with a tadpole grasped in its beak. Chris said this day, he set up specifically to capture a Kingfisher and it's nice when a plan comes together, especially with wildlife.

For today’s video, we’re headed to Whitefish Point with Frances Czapski, to check out the last bit of ice literally hanging on at Whitefish Point, Michigan. She said strong northwest winds the last few days kicked up the waves on Lake Superior and broke up the last of the ice shelf that's been lingering along the shoreline, but this chunk was high up on the pilings and still hanging on.

Wow...what an interesting set!
The first pic looks like a bird on top of a
swimming-leopard's head, which is wrong on so many
levels. But, this is what happens after another
sleepless night.
The rest of the birds look hand-painted.
The video reminds me of a floating éclair,...psych
1, psych 2, psych 3, I'm out.

Alex, one word brother.... Melatonin.. !! :=))

Melatonin; Using it, UC...unfortunately it doesn't
work on nocturnal leg-spasms, a symptom of M.S..

I have those too, Gatorade and Pedialyte offer some
relief for me because of diuretic dehydration, not
sure if it would offer any help for you my friend?
Mine can get so bad, I have to stand up immediately
and straighten out my legs & feet.

Alex and UC, getting older ain't for
sissies. If I didn't ache getting out of bed
in the morning, I'd think I woke up dead.

Deb and UC: Been there, done all that and I
sympathize with you both. My apologies for carrying
on and taking up everyone's time on the subject, I
think we need a special page called "The Quick and
the Dead - Part. II". :)

Hey this is the Thursday page, I would think most
are on the Friday page. Maybe Charlie will bring
back the "What's up" page lol ...
