I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there are certain landmarks that most people associate with views from Houghton when you’re approaching the Lift Bridge, such as Quincy Hill with the Shafthouse on top, the view from Quincy Hill lookout area, and of course the Portage Lake Lift Bridge itself. One person commented that they always get huge smiles when they see the Bridge. To many folks that aren’t used to crossing it daily, it’s a sign that they’re home again in the Copper Country.
Nancy Haun snapped today’s shots and prefaced them by saying it was a gorgeous day to have appointments in Houghton with the scenery just breathtaking no matter where they went. She added that the day started out cloudy but ended with brilliant sunshine. She figured we’d recognize the views she captured and she was correct.
We head to the Lac La Belle area with Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, to check out the Luxe Nordic Spa at Mount Bohemia. They have a Finnish Sauna, Eucalyptus Steam room, hot and cold tubs and a waterfall, too, not to mention poolside drinks and wood-fired pizza. Looks quite relaxing!

I'm ready for winter to be over. Pictures are starting to look like they're in black and white rather than color. Still pretty, but not as.
The video is very cool, but no thank you, lol.

The third photo is not Limestone Mountain. The peak in the photo (I believe) is Tower Mountain outside of South Range. Limestone Mountain is near Pelkie and would not be visible from Quincy Hill.
Mary says: I just went by what the photographer said it was, Capt. Paul. I have no clue which peak it is. Thanks for the update.

The view of Hancock while descending the hill on M-26 just south of South Range somehow always draws me in. I've captured it several times. I think I keep getting a bit better at it, but I probably should drive a stake into the ground or GPS geo-tag the best spot.
