Barbara Bouwkamp was traveling from Marquette last Saturday and while passing through Alberta, she decided it was pretty enough, even without the colorful leaves, so she turned around at her first chance and went back to snap a few photos. The stillness of the water, the blue of the skies, the reflections of the white birch trees and the green of the pines...no wonder these scenes grabbed Barbara’s eyes. Anyone else may have just thought, that’s a pretty scene and kept on driving, but Barbara is always one that likes to appreciate the beauty surrounding her, so turn around she did.
I’m not sure what Lake Plumbago looks like today, since these photos were a week ago and the snow was just starting to fall. Here in Lake Linden, we just have a covering on the ground at present. Some years we have feet of snow by now, this year it’s been slower falling, but I’m sure we’ll get caught up once the snow making machines get going full guns.
In the meantime, let’s enjoy another of Steve Brimm’s 20 seconds of Solitude, this one with just a smattering of fall left on the trees. For more of Steve’s photography, click here: Steve Brimm Photography

Beautiful pictures! It's easy to see why
she turned around. Thanks for that, Barb!

How true hey Mary. I remember one deer season when
my nephew went out hunting in a tshirt and shorts
and got heat stroke! Other years, you gotta have
your snowmobile suit on~

We stopped and fished there this past summer; caught a lot of perch, but no trout. We've had some small tastes of autumn, but 77 today and 82 tomorrow feels more like summer...
