Joe Kirkish took advantage of a warm September day to take a ride to his cottage in the Keweenaw, near Copper Harbor. And what a day it was...spotting a freighter sailing off in the distance, enjoying the view of calm Lake Superior waters around the rocks that decorate the Big Lake and enjoying a glorious golden hued sunset. I’d say that’s a day well spent. I think the Shadow on Superior is my favorite, though, such a fun photo!

We’re making a stop at the Kakabika Falls near Marenisco, with Michigan Rocks. He said he’d never been there before, but the name was fun, so he decided to check it out. Glad he took us along.

If I was healthy enough, I would put Kakabika Falls
on my bucket-list. Thanks for the hike.

I'm thinking I could actually hike those
falls, even with my bum knee. Those were
awesome. Thanks for showing us.

Your pictures are fantastic. We saw the
freighter when we were at Esrey and then we
saw one at Great Sand Bay. It looked like it
was trying to get around the Keweenaw point to
get away from the storm that was going to hit
there.

When we can get out of this house, we're
having a great time just taking it all in.
It's been such a long time since we've been
able to do that because we've only had a week
at a time to fit it all in, as well as all the
visiting with my parents. Now we just go when
we're sick of trying to find a place in this
house for all of our stuff. Gale warnings
tonight but not until 11. I expect we'll miss
that but we've now got these new falls to hit.
