The Pasty Cam is filled with feathers today, thanks to our regular rural route letter carrier and her trusty camera, Beth Jukuri. She encountered quite a few feathered friends over the past week, starting with a pair of ducks and a pair of geese, who seem to be just fine sharing the water and keeping their social distancing at the same time.
Also spotted were a couple of Sandhill Cranes. We’ve had anywhere between two and nine in our fields for the past week or so and oh my, the squawking and flapping has been so loud, we can even hear them in the house! At first I thought they were fighting, but my hubby said it’s mating season, so I guess that’s a courting ritual and maybe a bit of fighting over the lady cranes, too.
Then Beth’s last shot is of course a wild turkey. I can’t quite tell from this angle if it’s a Tom or a Hen since you can’t tell if there’s a beard or not. Nice capture among the bare branches!
Get ready to do the Turkey Trot with E. Neil Harri on the Eagle Harbor Marina Road. Silly turkeys, running along the road, hoping to outrun Neil. Thankfully they started wising up and ran off to the side of the road after a bit. Turkeys have the funniest run with those legs moving so fast like that.

Nice set, but rather fowl! And I liked Mr. Harri's
jogging video.
