Winter in the Copper Country isn’t over until the last snow flake falls. We learned that again, this past week, when we received another blast of winter. That didn’t stop Mandy Cadwell from heading out for some Keweenaw Cruising to check out a few familiar locations. Jacob’s Falls was one of her stops on M26, east of Eagle River. You can see the fresh snow bordering the falls there and the icy curtain, coating the tree across the falls.
The last two photos are of the Silver River and Falls, located on M26, right before the Brockway Mountain Drive’s west entrance. That Sandstone and Brick Bridge has always been a favorite of mine. Beautiful and functional, too. More fresh snow can be seen around the bridge and falls. It has melted since, so we’re in and out of spring around here.
Before the snow is all gone... Keweenaw Convention and Visitors Bureau gives us a video replay of the many faces of snow excitement in the U.P. Won't be long until it's back.
