When a good old fashioned winter storm hits the Keweenaw, there are some places that get the brunt of it with wind and snow. George C. Bailey lives on the north shore of the Keweenaw Peninsula over looking Lake Superior and when the wind blows there, along with the snow flying, it covers everything. In George’s photos you can see how the trees are all frosted with snow that was blown around with the winds that accompanied the storm. His beautiful home is framed by the snowy trees and really stands out amid all the white. And check out his last photo. That’s M-26 before the plow gets there in the morning. Not a car track to be seen and I’m not quite sure how deep the snow is, but I’m guessing they need to wait for the snow plow to come by, before they venture to town. Sure is pretty, though.
Steve Brimm gives us a peaceful look at lightly falling snow in Copper Harbor. It looks like he made this video at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. Maybe he was up there skiing or snowshoeing on their trails.

Absolutely beautiful pics & video!!! I would love to be driving that road on the 4th pic! Did that one early morning years ago.... just put her in 4H Lock and go, went all the way from Lake Linden to Lac La Belle before the plow or anyone else had been on the road, great fun!! Thanks George & Steve for the great winter tour!!

I agree UC...beauty, eh? And I used to love blazing trails down the backroads after a snowfall, it was a mini-adventure that made me feel like a real rugged pioneer. Afterwards I'd stop in at McDonald's for breakfast.

The unbroken trail looks like some of the roads we took going back to Camp Northern after breaks. One night in particular....... but we made it safe and sound.
