The Cason J. Callaway and the Presque Isle boats were anchored deep in Keweenaw Bay this past Sunday, waiting out a storm with high winds and large waves. Quite a sight to see the freighters in the bay like this and all lit up for the night. I’m sure there were more than a few folks who took a ride to get a better look at them out there. These shots were captured by Da Brudders Adventures.
No pictures, but it was reported that the Lee A. Tregurtha, the Mesabi Minor, the Victory and the C.S.L. St. Laurent were taking shelter also. I don’t know if they were in or near Keweenaw Bay or perhaps in Chassell Bay. I for one, am always glad to hear when these big boats take refuge from the Gales of November on Lake Superior.
Back on Veterans Day, Lake Superior at Grand Marais was all stirred up. Michigan Ed-Ventures recorded some of the impressive power of Lake Superior during gale force winds. Hold on to your hat!

Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm, "Come in, she said, I'll give you shelter from the storm" (Bob Dylan)

Alex, don't forget....
"Keep a clean nose, watch the plainclothes, You don't need a weather man to know which way the wind blows" & "The pump don't work 'cause the vandals took the handles"
