Mary Schmitt was out and about with her camera last week, snapping a number of the beautiful blossoms that are blooming right now. Apple Blossoms are so delicate and pretty and of course mean some delicious, crunchy apples will follow later.

Those Lilacs are my absolute favorite, the scent is intoxicating for me, I can’t get enough of it. I’ve been smelling them when out on my bike ride lately, too.

The Forget-Me-Nots are another favorite of mine, which I think just grow wild and spread, correct me if I’m wrong on that one, but I know they’re in my yard in places and we didn’t plant them. Did you know these pretty, little blue flowers represent remembrance and are associated with Dementia?

And last, but not least, Mary found some Wild Strawberry Blossoms, too. Just like the Apple Blossoms, these are a promise that tiny wild strawberries, sweeter than sweet will be growing there soon. Only thing about all these blossoms that I don’t like, is that they don’t last long enough.

We have a little twist for today’s video. I normally look for something that pertains to the photos, but when searching for blossom videos, I found the Keweenaw Swing Band, back in 2011 at Daniel Park in Laurium, playing Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White! Sit back and enjoy or if you feel the urge, get up and dance to the music.

Way back when my wife had me plant a Lilac bush
because she loved the smell, er pardon me the
aroma. It's never had any odor whatsoever.

Or maybe I've had the Covid bug all along. I've
read it kills your sense of smell.

Oh my, what glorious pictures of flowers. It's
such a beautiful time of year for that.

Want to wish my mom a very happy 90th today. Hard
to believe. I would never have thought she'd live
this long. But she's so tough I shouldn't have
doubted it.

If you were standing next to my Lilac bush I probably couldn't tell the difference.

I'd like to add a close up of the Rhododendron in my front yard, mainly because it's here for such a short time. This was taken just 3 days ago. It blooms once per year, full of dozens of these blossoms but they only last a few days. It's almost gone now.
