If you’re interested in paddling and floating peacefully along on a river, then you should definitely try kayaking. Judy Byykkonen took some serene photos on a recent kayak trip on the Traprock River. The scenery she shares, shows off how calming this type of kayak adventure can be. Beautiful scenery, unique artwork created by rippling water, critters along the way (Judy thought this one was a woodchuck) and animal architecture with quite the impressive beaver dam.

Kayaking is truly a great way to slow down the pace and take in all the beauty that surrounds us here in the Copper Country each and every day.

I think the Western Upper Peninsula Visitors Bureau agrees. Their video here today talks about enjoying the REAL outdoors in the Western U.P. Enjoy the escape!

Paddling by either kayak or canoe is certainly a great way to experience many places that are otherwise very inaccessible.

Very well done video. At first I wondered why that couple rented such a large resort cabin. Then I realized they probably needed the extra space for the film crew and drone operators. I counted a power boat, a small fishing boat, a kayak and a canoe. I wonder if all that came with the cabin rental.

We have kayaks but can never find time to use
them. When there's time, we like to go fishing
with the grandkids. They're only young for
such a short time. We want them to have lots
of fun memories with us. I have so many fond
memories of my grandparents. So, fishing or
tubing with the grandkids wins for now. But I
know for a fact that Judy does both. Some day
when we're not working.
