Saturday was opening day of Trout Season here in the U.P. and Laurie Bashaw captured quite a group of fishermen/women who were all casting a line trying to get a few trout for dinner. Laurie said her hubby and her were out for a drive, trying to make their way to Point Abbaye in Baraga County and spotted at least 16 people out there fishing in the Huron River. She snapped the photo from Big Eric’s bridge near Skanee.
Laurie’s other two photos were just some interesting scenes along their travels in that same area. That’s quite the icy overhang still clinging to the rocks there in the second photo. It must not get much sun during the day, to melt and loosen its frozen grip.
In the third shot, check out the little waterfall, which is most likely run-off from melting snow, still making its way into the Big Lake. Reminds me of all the run-off waterfalls along M-26 between Lake Linden and Ripley, this time of year.
Today’s video is from CoppersmithStudios1, relevant for today, as it talks about the brook trout fishing streams in the Porcupine Mountains and has some beautiful scenery of the park and streams.

Glad to see those fisherpeople were social distancing!

WOW, did I need this! I'm not a fisherman, but the video was fantastic, I could watch streams and waterfalls for hours. Someone should make a DVD of the UP's streams and waterfalls, no music and no narration and put in on Amazon.
