We get to go on another Keweenaw road trip today, this time with Pam Heide. Our first stop with her is at Great Sand Bay, which over the past few years has transformed to a rocky beach with the wave action of Lake Superior. No matter though, it’s still one of the prettiest spots along M-26, in my opinion and a bonus for those who do any rock hunting.

Pam’s last two photos are typical shots of the shoreline between Eagle River and Copper Harbor, rocky and still with some icy coatings, too. That is of course due to the cold temperatures we’ve still been getting, especially at night and the cold waters of the Big Lake. It’s always a treat to see a freighter out there on Gitche Gumee. No matter how many times I’ve spotted one out there, the next time is just as exciting and you think about what it must be like to be sailing on the Great Lakes, as you drive along with it for a time.

A.R.T Designs produced today’s video and said it was three years in the making. It showcases the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, on a trip through the seasons. Enjoy!

Hi
Great video. I have seen Tahquamenon Falls in
summer and winter, but from the ground.I'd love to
see the northern lights again(only saw them
once).

Have really enjoyed the 'tours' the last few days - thanks everyone! And the video was fantastic - not too many places i didn't recognize - beautiful seeing them over the seasons. I hope by the time the weather is consistently warm we can be free to go enjoy it safely.
