Over in Hubbell, Bob Gilreath has his back yard bird feeders going strong and like in yesterday's photos, there are still some leaves on the tree there, too. Perhaps those leaves shelter the birds a bit from the winds, so that's a bonus for them then. Bob captured two Blue Jays in his first shot and a Downy Woodpecker in the second photo. None of them seem to be too bothered by the falling snow, they just go about getting some dinner from Bob and Liz's bird diner.
Our video today fits right along with Bob's bird feeding. It was filmed when the first snow of the season was falling. Feeding the birds in the winter benefits the birds and us humans, by making us slow down to watch them as they flit back and forth.

I have a big flower pot on my porch that I can see from my door. I dropped a suet cake in there a couple of weeks ago. Some birds dropped in for a nibble, then a squirrel jumped in and took it out of the pot, ate some of it, then dragged it to the end of the porch and tried to take off with it. As I moved towards the door with my camera, he dropped it and took off.

I could just sit and watch birds all day.
Loved the video. Thanks for sharing.
