On a recent visit to Eagle Harbor, Mike Rudzki stopped by the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse campus to check out the displays and information there. The Keweenaw County Historical Society has an information kiosk proclaiming them as Caretakers of the Past and Stewards of the Future. Sure looks like they’ve done a nice job preserving the history of this beautiful light station and the people who served as light keepers there. Take a look at the third photo, looking west from the lighthouse. That’s a good example of why Lighthouses such as this one were necessary, as the rocky outcroppings there and all around the harbor, make it difficult for boaters to maneuver their way into the harbor without the guidance of navigational aids such as the Light Station provides.
We get a video look at the grounds and Lighthouse today, courtesy of "Backroad Travlers". Enjoy the look around.

Such an awesome place. Every time in there I take new pictures. Some become repetive but that just doesn't matter. It's new every time. Just gorgeous

So nice to see it again. Wish I could hop on the Wing and head UP, but until that day comes, this will do.

Bob just returned with some amazing pictures for me of The Eagle Harbor Lighthouse. He took 5 days and rode the U.P., Duluth, and Two Harbors, Mn. on his Low Rider. 2000 miles of joy!
