Isle Royale is the least visited National Park here in the U.S., but it has the most repeat visitors. Once you visit, you’re hooked and you come back again and again. Jeremy Rowe from Keweenaw Night Sky Photography was recently over on the Island and spent at least one night at Duncan Bay Narrows, camping. Sure looks like a peaceful place to recharge.
While on their Island trek, they had a bonus spotting of the Mesabi Miner as it was chugging by. It’s really something to see a big boat like that sail by when you’re in a small boat nearby.
USA Today presents a video by Brian Kaufman of the Detroit Free Press, explaining why those that visit Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior, keep coming back.

Ahh Isle Royale. My favorite place on Earth, only slightly ahead of The Keweenaw and then The U.P. Ever since my first Island journey in 1975, I was hooked.
