A little ice around the edges doesn’t stop Brenda Leigh from getting out in her “Holy Wah” kayak this time of year. No need to worry about her paddling among the ice chunks in Brimley, as she’s been doing this for more years than she can count. It sure looks like it was a beautiful day, just about a week ago, when she went for this paddle and even spotted a freighter off on the other side of the ice chunks. I have no clue which big boat this is, so if anyone can identify it for us, feel free.
A little further west of Brimley, Frances Czapski, from the Whitefish Point Facebook page, captured a beautiful sunrise scene a few days ago. So peaceful and calming, what a beautiful start to any day. It looks like the shoreline ice around the bay there has melted away.

It has been snowing all morning here in Houghton. Took a few pictures of the big pine tree, off my porch, covered with snow AND snowing. In some ways it was pretty to watch the snow fall.:O)
