We’ve featured photos from Beth Jukuri’s mail route out of the Chassell Post Office numerous times before on the Pasty Cam, but she always manages to find something new of interest to share with us. Like today’s photos...the first one was taken last week, showing the high snowbanks hiding half of the barn and the still icy covered roadway. The second photo was taken the same day, a year ago in 2018. Look at the difference a year made. You can see the entire barn and there’s even bare ground surrounding it. The roadway is puddles and gravel, instead of ice, too. We have a ways to go this year, to look like the second photo. Come on Spring!
While we’re waiting for Spring here UP North, the Hancock Barkell Elementary students are keeping busy learning basic science fundamentals through a Michigan Tech educational outreach program. They recently enjoyed a field trip to the Nara Nature Center where they learned to alter the melting point of ice. Hmm... I wonder if these 2nd graders could speed up the melting of the snow this year?
