How many St. Patrick Day's have we seen temps in the 40's and 50's by now, at this stage of the winter? But not this year. This morning's 16 degrees made it all the way up to 20 in Calumet, which is a heat wave compared to the past few weeks when the polar vortex was in town. I ran across this TV 5&10 report that relives some of the action during days when -18 was the high. And the snow this year! wave after wave, with way over 300 inches descending on Calumet.

This week rumor has it that Spring will arrive. We'll believe it when we see it :)

Glad they did restrict that youthful enthusiasm to protect the students. Desecration being the better part of valor even in snow sculptures!
