Get out of the way, guys, there’s a train behind you! We start the array of photos and places with Fritz and Jeff Dennis at night in Michigamme. Trains are another passion for Jeff and I’m guessing Fritz, then, too. The next photo is the Dennis kiddos at Sugarloaf Mountain in Marquette. Jeff said it was worth the climb to the top. I should have asked him if it’s a tougher climb in the winter with ice and snow covered trails.

Fritz is looking a bit one-eyed in the third photo, at Oliver Bay on the Gay/Lac La Belle Road on Lake Superior. He must have been digging in the snow and came up with a snowy face. Nice capture with the sun sparkling in the sky and shining on the snow.

Then back at the camp at Little Traverse, there’s what Jeff described as an Epic Party going on with the deer herd that is hanging out on the shores of Lake Superior there. And of course Jeff gets in on a bit of the night time antics with the herd in the last two shots. The deer seem quite comfortable with his presence at the party, as I’m sure they know that the hand that feeds them is going to do them no harm there. They probably wait for him to come with their dinner.

We’re joining Visit Keweenaw for a look at Keweenaw Snowmobile Safety – Love the Keweenaw and the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club. The lead-in to the video says: “Ride Right. Ride Safe. Ride Sober. The Keweenaw Snowmobile Club and Love the Keweenaw share easy tips on how to stay safe while enjoying Copper Country Snowmobile Trails.”

Another nice Fritz-Flick brought to
you by a cold mug of Deer-Lite.
Are Jef and Fritz playing chicken
with that train?
And an informative video too.
When we used to trail ride
with a group, we always had
a rule that you were responsible
for the rider behind you and
when you came to a turn or
a fork in the trail, you would
wait for the rider behind you
before you continued.
That way they would know
which way to go.

Very nice pictures, Jeff. I'm glad
Fritz got you out for a while.

snowmobiling, ATVing, & motorcycling than the U.P.!

This is so gorgeous...are the kiddos at Northern??

Those deer are about to do battle over food. They
can be very vicious..And those hooves are SHARP.
Sometimes you'll see a scrape on a deer's
side..that's how that happens. I've got a pic of
what looks like deer hanging...but nope...they are
about to do battle.

I got a sunrise pic over the Keweenaw Peninsula
from point Oliver...or around those parts...and
before Digital came along....that's old. But what
an incredible experience. Got there just before
Dawn...and the birds started waking up and
singing..the fish were coming up and grabbing
insects on the top of the water..NO
cars/people...it was me and the Good Lord and what
a spectacular start to the day.

Pay attention to the vid!!

And Janie..have you ever hit Brockway Mountain on
the night of a full moon? Holy wha...talk about
pure beauty.

Donna yes we have, seen the northern lights from
there also.

Great pics and video. There were no steps, decks
or rails on Sugarloaf when I was at NMU. Great
memories especially going up and coming down in
the middle of the night by the light of the stars
& moon.

We were riding up Brockway from the Eagle Harbor
side one afternoon, going at a pretty good clip,
when all off a sudden this guy flies by us, I
didn't even see him coming up on my left, he had
to be going well over 100 mph. I thought he was
nuts!! By the time we got back to Houghton and the
rental place, I thought I was going to die, every
part of my body ached, and that hotel bed felt so
great. I was sore for the next 3 days. lol
