That's Baraga across the Bay.  A few blocks behind us is the Hilltop Restaurant.

A winter storm moved through the Midwest overnight, but the worst came a little farther south.  Much of the precip in the Keweenaw is just lake effect.

From the Houghton side you can see downhill ski runs over on Ripley.  As an added bonus, some of the mining ruins and the Ranger are also in view...

...along with some evidence of snowmobile traffic on the Portage Canal.

Back to Marquette for a day... The new pavilion at Presque Isle Park is a good place to strap on the cross country skis.

Come to the U.P. to enjoy a very mild winter.

A nice way to spend a day off.  Many offices (including the post office) are closed in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

These are holiday travelers passing through Lake Linden.
