When Debbie Jarve shared these photos she commented that you know it’s spring when the Swans return to the Swedetown pond. So I guess it’s official then, since many other springtime birds have been gradually showing up, also. Debbie captured some beautiful reflection shots of these Trumpeter Swans and it’s always fun to see them return, knowing that they’ll be raising up some fluffy cygnets in the not so distant future.

An interesting video from Get To Know Nature here today. The lead-in says: “Bird eyes are quite impressive compared to our own. They can see from a long way off or have a very wide field of view. They have a third eyelid which allows their eyes to be protected but still see what they're doing. Check out a variety of bird eyes and what they can do.” Fun and informative!

These are such gorgeous pictures. WOW..They need to
be huge prints in an office someplace! And out

Michigan. And, beautiful pictures.

With regard to the bird eyes, here is a rhyme that
applies:
Eyes in the front
Need to hunt
Eyes on the side
Need to hide

I just love swans. These are
gorgeous pictures. I love the last
