We have some more beautiful, frosty morning photos today (even though the forecast is in the 50’s). These are from Kathy Erkkila Ptaszek, who was out enjoying the quiet beauty of a November day. Like I mentioned yesterday, the frost and snow pretty everything up again for us, natural beauty. These photos with the change of seasons, remind me of the song by the Byrds, from 1965, Turn, Turn, Turn... it starts like this: To everything, turn, turn, turn, there is a season turn, turn, turn, and a time to every purpose under Heaven... The song was taken from the Bible - Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. I think maybe the purpose of fall into winter, is so that the busyness of summer with vacations, beach going, picnics and more, takes a break and slow things down a bit for us all. What do you think? And honest answer now... how many of you sang the words of the song, instead of just reading them?

We have another beauty of a video from Steve Brimm. I think we’re up at Lake Manganese in Copper Harbor, watching the snowflakes fall.

Serene, especially the video. Lake Manganese was
always a final stop, cruising UP on the Wing.
It was nice seeing it again.
Many thanks to Kathy and Steve.
And yes, Mary…I’ll be thinking about that song all
morning now.

Hi
Beautiful pictures, and yes, I heard the song
mentally.

I think fall is to help us transition from summer
to winter without too much of a shock. It lets
your body get gradually used to colder
temperatures---at least with historically average
weather. And bare trees, dead grass and mud are
less attractive than sparkly frost and snow.
Plus, if you're hiking (or skiing) an unfamiliar
trail you can follow your tracks back to the car
if there's snow.

Yeah...I sang. lol

Gorgeous pics, and those apples will also get
chewed on by the deer and the turkeys!!

Lol. I sang them. Beautiful pictures. I
absolutely love every one of them. My
favorite is frosty needles.

Yep, me too, that tune is now stuck in my head, at least for today . . .
I agree with Kathryn about fall helping our bodies adjust to colder temps. And after we have, a day that's around 35 or 40 degrees seems downright balmy.

Speaking of Byrds stuck in your head.
Maybe replace "Turn Turn Turn" with this?:

Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
In the jingle-jangle morning I'll come following
you.

Love the frost!
