We’re back in Traprock Valley at the backyard zoo of Jean Dessellier. That Hummingbird has probably already headed south now, since it’s usually by mid-September that we no longer get them at our feeders. Jean’s second shot, the nuthatch looks a bit different due to the angle its head is at with that sunflower see in its bill. What a beautiful color on its red-breast.
Jean said the turkeys were part of her morning view and always fun to see them come to visit with little ones tagging along like that. The critters around Traprock Valley know that the Dessellier’s backyard is a haven of safety and somewhere to find some good eats, too.
Steve Brimm was over at Lake Fanny Hooe by Fort Wilkins on a recent foggy morning and recorded some geese there, that were restless and squawking, probably anxious to head south for their long flight before winter arrives here UP North.

Beautiful pictures. We haven't been able to
watch the birds much this year due to pesty
bears. Can't even put our feeders out. So
these pictures were fun. The video was all a
blur on my end.

Colorful pix indeed!
The turkey pix remind me of the
turkey jerky that I used to buy at
Gustafson’s Smoked Fish in Brevort.
My apologies to the turkeys above if I ate any relatives.
