When it comes to gardening here in the Copper Country, Patty Rheault and her family do it pretty well. Just look at those Sunflowers in their garden, just beautiful. There’s something about a field of sunflowers that just makes people smile. Then check out that big green pumpkin from their garden...it’s just lying there waiting to ripen in time for October decorating. And if that’s not enough to show off their garden, just take a look at the bottom photo of a portion of the yellow and green beans they harvested. Patty said they grew enough to feed three families this winter, as they blanched and froze them. I’m sure they had enough to supply the folks that stop by their roadside stand on the Bootjack Road, Northern Belle Gardens, along with a whole array of fresh vegetables and other homemade treats.

While you’re on your way to the roadside stand in Bootjack, you can take a drive through Historic Lake Linden. Visit Keweenaw is taking us on a quick drive down the main street here today. I’m kind of partial to Lake Linden, I grew up there and have never lived more than four miles from the home I grew up in.

Nice little video on mainstreet Lake Linden. Wasn't there a drive-in movie theater either there, or in the Hubbell area? I remember seeing the Steve McQueen movie, Bullitt there circa 1970.

Yes, George, there was a drive in down at
the very end of town heading that way. I
think we went to see Star Wars, and I was so
exilerated by it that I went to sleep
instead, lol.
