We’re going on an excursion in the Grand Marais area between Munising and Whitefish Point, on the shores of Lake Superior today, with Marcy Bessolo Hermanson and her hubby, Eric. They started out at the Log Slide, parking in the lot and taking a short walk to the lookout and were treated with a look at the Au Sable Light Station and a freighter passing by. Neither Marcy or Eric wanted to make the decent down to the water’s edge and looking at the second photo, I don’t blame them, that’s a long way down. They drove to the Light Station and walked along the beach first, snapping a few shots and then took the trail to the Light Station. Marcy said it was just about two miles one way and you could also take the North American Trail from one point to the other there. All in all, she said it was a fun walk! And the scenery is amazing...that look back at the log slide always astounds me...it looks like it’s from another world.
We head a back northwest across the U.P. with TourDaYoop, who gives us “20 seconds of beautiful Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. One of the most beautiful places in the Midwest, the land of Yoopers. So much beauty to see across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan all four seasons of the year.”
