After the storm last week, the reward for days of fierce winds, rain, ice and snow was this beautiful rainbow over Lake Superior. Gina Hoffman captured it out near Rabbit Bay and commented that her family took it as a sign, as they had been battling to make a very important decision. She added that where there is a beginning, there is an end and the sun came out, giving them this beautiful sight!

Their decision was about their fur-baby, Kitty, pictured in the bottom photo. Kitty had cancer and sadly they had to decide to help Kitty cross the rainbow bridge. What a beautiful reassurance that they were making the right decision for Kitty, even though it broke their hearts. The waves rolling in on the Lake Superior shores symbolize the roughness of that day in the midst of the beauty, too. Thank you for sharing your photos and story, Gina, Jim and family.

Having made this decision many times over the years,
it was never easy. Take solace in knowing your
loved one had the best life you could give them, and
cherish the memories they gave you.

OMG, I just went through this. The heartbreak is
sooooooo deep!!! I'm still weeping, and probably
always will. My sympathy!!

Omgosh the story about Kitty broke my heart.
Beautiful skies to help make their decision. My
opinion, we must never let our fur babies suffer.
They're far too special and make our lives so much
richer. Even though it's so very hard on us, we're
doing what's best for them. My heart goes out to
you.
