We don’t always get much sunshine in the Copper Country during the winter months, but this past week we had a few sunny days that then turned into beautiful sunsets. Debbie Jarve sent a few shots that she took from Swedetown, so I figured it was time for a sunset day on the Pasty Cam, so we could enjoy them all...that and I couldn’t pick just one to save for the end of the month. It’s gorgeous skies like this that make the winter not seem quite so long here UP North, although we’ve definitely had an odd winter so far. I’m hoping that doesn’t mean that February and March are going to be rough weather.
We have a special treat today for our video. Ship to Shore Chef, Catherine Schmuck is giving us a tour of the gallery and mess room on the Honorable Paul J. Martin. She was getting ready to leave for vacation, so after cleaning everything and storing items for the winter layover, she figured it would be a good time to make a video to share. It’s quite interesting to see where the meals that feed the crew are prepared and served. You can follow Catherine’s Facebook page here: Ship to Shore Chef. She also has a webpage with information, along with books for sale if you’re looking for a unique gift for your favorite boatnerd/cook. You can get there by clicking here: ShipToShorechef.com

Wow! These are beautiful pictures. I bet she loved being there to catch them. Today it looks like the sun wants to come out but the clouds are being stubborn. So it really was nice to see these gorgeous shots today.

Love the sunsets! Thanks Mary & Debbie! The second is my favorite but they are all gorgeous.
Can't imagine being a cook on one of those freighters. They sure do a great job!
