Another adventure Jeff Dennis took this past week, was a stop at Canyon Falls, which is seven miles south of L’Anse, on US-41. Chances are even if you’ve never stopped to check out this easy to visit falls, you’ve most likely driven by on your way traveling through the area. It’s well worth the stop, as you can see from Jeff’s photos here today. The falls are beautiful with the water rushing over the rocks there in the first photo, but check out the shot of the gorge, it’s quite impressive with the high rock walls, giving it the nickname of “Grand Canyon of the U.P.” Someone said that even though the sign in the third photo says, “Trail Ends”, there are still some nice falls after the sign. Just be aware that the trail is going to be rough going and most likely dangerous to continue on past there.

Jeff’s bottom photo was snapped near Marquette, with Fritz enjoying a cooling romp in the water, while a pretty rainbow forms off in the distance over Lake Superior. Couldn’t resist sharing this one, too.

So now, if Jeff’s photos aren’t enough to convince you to stop and check out Canyon Falls, then turn up your speakers and sit back for an “almost like being there” video that will get you grabbing your keys and heading that way.

Nicely done, Jeff! I’ve past by those falls hundreds of times but

never stopped. Always to busy heading UP or going down.

I second Alex's comments! Drove by there and Vic
said we should stop, lol.... needed to put some
miles behind us, what a mistake!! What a great two
months it was in northern Michigan and the
Keweenaw.

Had a great time with Jim & Mary Drew too Pasty
family. The weather couldn't have been better for
our extended time in the Keweenaw either!

Now it's back to help out with Vic's folks and a
whole mess of annual checkups at the U for me.
This vacation was everything I could have hoped
for, no issues and good health. Didn't mean to go
MIA with Pasty.com but we just didn't have great
internet options there in Gay.

I've been to these falls and we absolutely
loved them. Of course Ron went past the
trail end sign. Not me. But we had a very
enjoyable time there. The video was awesome.
We've meant to go back this year but there's
always something.

UC, we drove past the cabins there outside
of Gay this past weekend and wondered if you
were there. Had we known your schedule, we'd
have made an effort to visit. Next time.
Happy there were no health problems.
