I have to admit, this falls is a new one for me, but thanks to Laurie Bashaw, it is now on my radar. The Yondota Falls is located about 3.5 miles north of Marenisco on the Presque Isle River in the Bessemer Ranger District. It’s a series of falls, so when you visit make sure you walk far enough to see them all. It’s a short, beautiful hike, but there is an elevation drop along the river so the walk back is uphill and could be considered moderately difficult, although easy walking paths make this a great falls to visit.
Douglas Feltman also visited these falls in mid-August and said the river was quite high due to some recent rains, so the rocky personality of the falls was lost beneath the flow of the water. He also mentioned that the bugs were getting to be a bit much for him, so he didn’t stay there long. Pack bug spray for this excursion!

Are these falls near all of the Black River Falls that I swear have about 500 stairs to climb up. Omgosh I was beat the day we did three of those falls there. They are THE most beautiful sets of falls, in such a close area, that I have ever seen. Until I have my knee replaced, I won't be doing those again. Anyway, I digress. Is that the area these falls are in because I just don't remember them. Gorgeous pictures, Laurie! That is just one of the most beautiful areas that we have visited UP here.
Nicely done, thanks for taking the time and braving the bugs.

Not only have we not been to these falls, we had never heard of them! Thanks for the tip - good fall color tour location after the bugs die off a bit!
