Patrick Hugener from Head in the Clouds Photography, takes us out for a “birds eye view” of Whitefish Point. In both photos, over on the left, you can just see the Lighthouse sticking UP above the rest of the landscape. Then in the second photo we get a look at the State Harbor there, which is located right next to Brown’s Fishery. I’m assuming the light brown in the water is a sand bar, but am also wondering how deep it is there to get into the harbor. Looks like it might be dredged out, but then quits at the entrance. Then again, all that could be different than what the eye is seeing from the air. Hopefully someone can fill us in.

We’re heading west to the Marquette area with MI Playground. We’re going to hike to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, with Nick, who points out a few other Marquette adventures from UP there, including Blackrocks, downtown Marquette, Little Presque Isle and Hogsback Mountain. Can't count how many times i've hiked up Sugarloaf - it never gets old. Amazing how much easier they have made it since back in the day. To say Hogsback is a little more effort is quite the understatement!
