It’s so wonderful to go through different towns and see the flowers decorating the sidewalks and roadways. Houghton does a great job of adding color to their town with gardens that groups can adopt. The WIND (Women in New Directions) ladies have adopted a spot...their sign says, “This garden is lovingly cared for by the WIND ladies”. They recently brought their totem pole there as decoration and then took a bike ride along the Houghton Waterfront trail, checking out the tulips along the way. Beth Jukuri shares the first four photos here today.

Judy Byykkonen shares the fifth photo with the Portage Lake Lift Bridge in the background. So much to admire and enjoy along this trail.

The last photo is from Bob Gilreath. I titled it “Bobs Beauties”, but his wife Liz could be a part of this pretty flower garden that decorates their yard, too. So much color, they don’t look like tulips to me. I’m not sure what type of flower they are, but they sure make me smile!

It's tulip time everywhere in Michigan and it brings back memories. When I was in the 4th grade and played the sax, I marched in the Tulip Festival Parade in Holland. We even wore wooden shoes. They sure know how to grow tulips though.

Went to MQT for a doc appt yesterday. Then we took
a spin out to Presque Isle....there's a new home
down there, and holy wha. I've never seen so many
tulips in one place in my life!
EVERYWHERE....imagine what it'll be like when they
make more bulbs!

such beauty everywhere...there's still so many
different colors of green coming out on the
trees...it's stunning!

And that video is amazing. We do have a ton of
orchids here....but don't forget....being Federally
Protected is big...that's one huge fine and perhaps
jail time. Trillium, Lady Slippers, Arbutus,
etc....all protected. Take pics...not flowers!!
