Sometimes it’s hard to improve upon the captions the photographers add to their pictures and this is one of those times. Frances Czapski, the talent behind the camera over at Photography by Frances had this to say about her captures:
“Earth Day. Every day. But especially today. Sunrise on Lake Superior is surreal. Ice, sand, sky, water, freighter, rocks, water, sky, peace, calm. We move and shift together. Ebb and flow. Sunrise on Lake Superior's Whitefish Bay - Whitefish Point, Michigan”
I could not have described these photographs better.

Frances outdid me with description of her video, too.
“A clear, calm dawn on Lake Superior's Whitefish Bay. So wonderful to see and hear open water again. There were many birds and waterfowl out and about and vocal in the early morning hours too. Everything is awake and alive after the long winter!”

I listen to plenty of radio throughout the day, I
find it amazing how many people in lower MI have
never been to the U.P. and or feel they can make
an opinion about the U.P. having never been across
the Mac or even seen the Mac!! Many think it's
just barren land without people or "nothing to do
up there!" They have no idea what they are
missing, or they just don't care because it's not
for them, which is ok too... to each his own. But
when they disrespect it... ignorantly... it really
gets my dander up!! Quoting Judge Judy.. "Beauty
fades, stupid is forever! " I can't tell you what
Grandpa Norm would have said... it's not
appropriate, but the initial's are SFB's! lol
Guess I shouldn't raise my BP up so early in the
AM- Have a great day Pasty Fam!!

LOL, That's exactly my opinion today! (And I used to live there) It's why I love it.

Mostly barren of people but not forest. Far less to do by modern civilization standards but enough of so many things to keep things slow and calm.

That Laker seems awfully close to shore, even for Whitefish Bay. Maybe it's closer to the narrows by St. Mary's River?

understand her beauty and history, I guess is what
I'm saying. It's kind of like saying, you don't like
prune tarts from Toni's in Laurium when you've never
tried one, because of your image of prunes! lol I
could eat a dozen right now!! When you're running
down my Yoop, you're walking on the fightin side of
me! My apologies to Merle Haggard, R.I.P. Merle!!

I LOVE breakfast at Tonis,
But I'm SURE I'll be skipping the prune tarts, LOL.
There's so many better things to choose from.

BTW, I HAVE run it down in the past, but only to a
guy that I knew would ruin something about it.
