I know you’re all tired of seeing wintry photos, but that is the story of our life here in the Keweenaw right now. We had another 6” plus snowfall the end of last week and Judy Byykkonen said she almost did not head out as winter has gotten so long, but she had to take her “girls” out for a walk, so away she went and was greatly rewarded by the beauty in the woods. She headed out near Calumet Waterworks Park, to hike with her four-legged friends on the dog friendly, Gardner’s Creek and Nature Trail. It’s about 1.6 miles located in the Calumet, Laurium, Keweenaw School Forest. Judy did capture some beautiful shots there and her doggies enjoyed the romp on the trails, too.
Alexis Dahl brings us a video series about the Quincy Mine...today’s first episode is titled: “Deadly Genius: The Engineering of the Quincy Copper Mine | Quincy Mine #1”. Another episode will be featured tomorrow, so make sure you tune in for that one, also. As Alexis posts the new episodes for the series, they’ll be featured right here, so be on the lookout. It’s a history lesson in the making.

I like the last 2 pictures the best, I
think. The heavy snow makes the trees so
beautiful. But yep, I'm really tired of
winter.
Alexis always has interesting topics.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
