We’ve had a couple days of 50° this week, so the melt has begun. It remains to be seen if it will continue and of course that doesn’t mean we won’t get a snow storm or two still. Winter isn’t usually quite over here UP North yet.
Today’s photos were snapped last week, by Judy Byykkonen when the sun had come out and was warm enough to melt some of the snow that had been deposited on the trees from the last snowfall, forming icicles hanging from the branches on the Swedetown ski trails. A number of these photos reminded me of the plastic icicles you can buy to hang on your Christmas tree. I have some I hang on a small artificial tree we put up and decorate, in addition to a bigger, real tree. Now I know where the idea of these icicles came from. Judy captured the beauty perfectly.
Today’s video is a bit longer, just over 10 minutes, but if you’ve ever wondered what it looks like riding a fat tire bike on the Swedetown biking trails, check out this adventure from MTB Trail Sherpa.

Beautiful pictures. I love the icicles on the trees.
It's so cool that people can bike like that in the winter months too.
