Most folks don’t get to travel the country roads daily, but Beth Jukuri does on her mail route. To keep things interesting on her deliveries, she looks at the scenery surrounding her drive and snaps photos along the way of things she finds intriguing. Today’s photos are a small collection from this past week. The road slick and shining with rain to start the tour. Then she came across a different sort of bird, a guineafowl, which is sort of similar to a turkey or a pheasant in looks. They originated in Africa and folks have them here to keep the tick and bug population down. From what I hear, they do that quite well, but are pretty noisy to have around. Quite the interesting bird.
Further along her route, Beth spotted some more common animals you find in the farming country...black angus cows and several goats, some on the roof of their shelter, others inside looking out at her, maybe hoping she had some treats for them. It looks like their owner put that black overturned container there for them to get up on the roof easier. How funny!
Check out today’s video for more information about the guineafowl birds, along with a quick look at other farm animals. Get ready to learn everything you never knew you wanted to know about these strange looking birds.
