A family of Trumpeter Swans has moved in at the Swedetown Ponds. Mom, Dad, and 6 fuzzy little babies. Marlene Beaudoin was lucky enough to catch them swimming in the pond and then out on land, taking their cygnets for a walk. Well, maybe not so much a walk, since several of the “kids” are sitting, but not Mom and Dad, they are standing guard, making sure their little ones are safe. They have that “don’t mess with me” stance and attitude.
Our third photo was snapped by Jean Dessellier at her bird feeding station. She said she hung an orange from her bird feeders in the hopes of attracting a Baltimore Oriole, but instead attracted a thief! Jean figures that black squirrel looks a bit guilty, too. Either way, it seems to be enjoying that juicy orange.
We head up to Eagle Harbor for a peaceful morning, courtesy of E. Neil Harri, with a couple Geese families and his dog, Sally keeping an eye on them from the shoreline.

Getting back on the right track usually involves getting out of a rut....this past year has dug some ruts!

Nice swan tale! You've got it made, Mr. Harri and Sally looks raring to go.

Those swan babies are so cute - but don't get too near. Mom & Dad would let you know they weren't happy in a very painful way!
Can imagine Sally would like checking out the geese but where's little Ruby? Maybe she wouldn't know to stay away yet!

Nice pics and video!! The only thing missing around that sandy beach over there is a big fake shark fin, lol I do have a twisted sense of humor at times!! :=))
