Last week we had a look at Eagle Harbor from the air. Today we are back on land for views with Stacey Flood. What a beautiful, sunshiny day she picked to capture the Lighthouse area, with some ice still lingering there in the Harbor. Stacey’s second shot, though, shows that much of the ice that we saw in the photos last week, has either moved out of the Harbor waters or has melted. But you can still see ice coating the set of rocks that guide boaters into the Harbor safely. If you keep your boat between those rocks, you’ll keep your boat off the rocks, too. It would be a tricky harbor to enter without those rocks as guides.
Stacey’s last two shots are good examples of the break-up happening. The cracks grow wider and wider by the day. Check out the reflections in the water of those cracks. Like a mirror it looks so clear.
We enjoy another video captured by Cathy McKenzie today. This one of the Eagle River Falls, which Cathy explains with the ice letting loose, the falls are displaying the power of spring snow-melt in the Keweenaw. What a great time to be there with camera in hand.

When did the tree in the middle of the falls, fall?
I always loved seeing that growing in the middle!
You can see it pointing down. );
